ABOUT ME...
Graduating Coastal Carolina University May 2015.
ACSM Certified Personal Trainer.
CPR and AED certified.
I believe science, personal experience, motivation and compassion are the keys to success in fitness.
I offer exercise programming, weight management, one-on-one and group training.
Why I chose American College of Sports Medicine for my CPT because it was used throughout my entire collegiate career. Known by health professionals as the Gold Standard, for being thorough and difficult to obtain for personal trainer certification.
My story: I didn't play many sports as a child, I wasn't athletic or motivated. Between a fractured ankle and not enough physical activity, I became obese. Hitting my peak weight right before high school, I decided I needed to do something other than sit on the computer and play video games, so I tried track and field. I hated it. It gave me motivation to have coaches and other athletes encourage me to give it my all. I participated in 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, long jump, triple jump, and high jump. I never placed better than 3rd in my 4 years as a track athlete, but I saw constant progress. I did however gain experience, knowledge and an affinity for exercise. To this day I still hate running, like most people. As the saying goes, "Those who can, do; Those who can't, teach." Although the quote may seem rude and derogative, in my case it is true. I trained kids who never high jumped in their lives', to beat me(not difficult) and even other competitors. I trained others how to explode off the blocks. I had some technique, just not the athleticism to go with it. I have been inspired by many professors, coaches, family, friends and clients to pursue my own career in the health and fitness industry!
